This super entertaining show stars Gregory Harrison from Trapper John, M.D. Pump Boys and dinettes is part musical, part concert, part musical review, part theater and is amazing. When the show is over, audiences leave laughing, tapping their feet and humming the many tunes that they’ve heard performed! A Gas station and a diner stand side by side along a highway. The pump boys do some auto repairs while the dinettes celebrate their great home cooking with charm and enthusiasm. The actors perform their music live on stage with guitars, piano, bass and even a variety of kitchen utensils and it is all upbeat and fun. The show is a great musical tribute to “life by the side of the road”!
For the morning event we will be stopping by the internationally famous Roasterie and learning about fine coffees. The Roasterie is a specialty coffee company which imports coffee beans from more than 31 different producing countries. On this fascinating tour you’ll be greeted by wonderful aromas and exotic looking bags of coffee beans from around the world. We’ll learn how coffee is graded, blended and air-roasted, especially the premier coffees produced by the Roasterie.

What better way to kick off “Spring,” than with the “Mystery Trip” this year. Remember, Jean will have a trip planned where she has never taken a group before. We will have the cost to you very soon so you can make your plans.

This hilarious musical comedy stars Richard Karn. (you’ll remember him as Al Borland, Tim Allen’s sidekick in Home Improvement) These days you can see Richard as the popular host of Family Fued. The show this day is about six young school children who are looked after by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves! Everyone finds out that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make one a loser. This show is another great comedy!
For the morning event we will be visiting the acclaimed Hi Ho Sheep Farm in Jackson County. This farm was featured in a story in the Kansas City Star. After arriving, you will meet many ewes, adorable lambs, the resident daughters and many pets. Craig Simpson runs the farm full time while his wife is a veterinarian for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This will be interesting, fun, and a totally different morning stop, that I think you will enjoy.

Let’s go back to 1962 where we find that the ‘50’s are out and change is in the air! A Baltimore big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart has only one passions in life….to dance! She wins a spot on the local TV dance program and overnight is transformed from outsider to an irrepressible teen celebrity. But can a trendsetter in dance and fashion vanquish the program’s reigning princess, win the heart of a popular heartthrob and take a part in a television show without denting her huge hairdo? Only in Hairspray!
Our morning event will be at the Heartland Nursery, the largest nursery in Kansas City with thousands of plants, flowers and garden accessories. We will be treated to a private program on gardening and plant demonstrations conducted by a staff Master Gardner and have plenty of time to ask questions and stroll about this amazing and beautiful nursery! You may even shop for plants.

| We are planning an October Fest type trip this year instead of our normal Christmas time outings. What better way to experience the fall atmosphere with all the beautiful colors that it has to offer. We have a couple of things in mind and as soon as we decide, you all will be the first to know! Keep watching for more details on our “October Fest” type trip. |
There will be more of the Dinner Theater to follow. Keep watching for more details, and as they become available, we will pass it on!
